Project

The Arc is a newly developed residential and commercial tower situated east of central London at 225 City Road.

We were commissioned to design and deliver a high-quality cycle storage and End-of-Trip Facility to support the rise of active commuting.

With sustainability and urban mobility at the forefront, the scheme required a secure, space-efficient, and
visually refined solution aligned with BREEAM
environmental standards.

Challenge

• Maximising capacity within a constrained footprint while maintaining accessibility for all users.
• Integrating security measures without compromising usability.
• Meeting strict durability and environmental standards for all materials and finishes.
• Delivering within a tight construction programme alongside other on-site works.

Our Solution

We designed, supplied, and installed a bespoke British-made facility featuring the following key components:

• Gas-Assisted Two-Tier Bike Racks: 74 spaces with gas-assisted upper tiers for effortless use, hot-dipped galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461:2022 for long-term protection.
• Single-Tier Racks: 186 spaces arranged in staggered heights for optimal density, each with dual locking hoops for enhanced security.
• Folding Bike Lockers: 18 dedicated Brompton-style lockers fitted with key or padlock cam locks for compact, secure storage.
• Sheffield Stands: 20 external galvanised steel stands providing short-term visitor parking.
• Maintenance Station: A fully equipped stand with universal mounts and essential repair tools for daily commuters.
• Security Mesh Fencing & Access Control: High-quality perforated mesh panels ensuring visibility and strength, integrated with digital access control for restricted entry.

End-of-Trip Facilities

To complement the storage area, we installed premium Camden and Westminster Lockers featuring ventilated, moisture-resistant carcasses and multiple locking systems. These provide secure, comfortable changing and storage amenities for regular cyclists.

Results

Completed on schedule and fully compliant with BREEAM requirements, the 225 City Road installation delivered a user-friendly, high-capacity facility that enhances both sustainability and convenience for building occupants.
