Our latest collaboration at Queens Quay, Bristol, highlights how integrated, high-quality cycle storage can elevate a modern office environment, supporting active travel while aligning perfectly with a building’s sustainability and design goals.

The Project

Queens Quay is a major £5.6m refurbishment and reconfiguration of a four-storey office building in the heart of Bristol, led by AWW Architects. The project focused on open, light-filled spaces, upgraded wellness facilities and strong sustainability credentials, including BREEAM Excellent and Wired Score Platinum.

A key part of the brief was encouraging active travel and supporting a healthy lifestyle. To deliver this, the reception was extended and new showers, changing rooms and basement cycle storage were introduced as core amenities.

Working closely with the client and architect, we supplied and installed a tailored suite of British-made, BREEAM-compliant products — all colour-matched to complement the building’s clean, modern aesthetic.

Premium Vertical Bike Racks

• Wall-mounted racks securing both wheel and frame for enhanced security
• Powder-coated to an agreed RAL colour for consistent finish
• Installed at 305mm centres for optimal space efficiency

Free-Standing Vertical Bike Racks

• Self-supporting design, ideal for flexible layouts
• Contrasting colours between cradle and frame for visual impact
• Supports secure D-lock fastening through wheel and frame
• Designed for 350mm spacing centre-to-centre

Folding Bike Lockers

• Stackable 3-tier lockers optimised for Brompton-style folding bikes
• Double-perforated steel doors with coded access for user peace of mind

Internal Maintenance Station

• Eight tethered tools and a heavy-duty floor pump
• Universal bike mounting for easy user access
• Encourages long-term cycling habits among tenants

Westminster Lockers

• Moisture-resistant MDF core with high-pressure laminate finishes
• Compact Z-locker configuration with integrated hanging rails
• Heavy-duty Blum hinges for long-term durability
• Laminates selected to match the interior design palette

Sustainability & Design

All products were manufactured in Britain using durable, low-impact materials designed to meet BREEAM Excellent targets. Finishes and colours were carefully coordinated to align with the building’s interior upgrades and modern cycle-friendly positioning.

Execution & Delivery

We worked closely with Method and Beard to ensure seamless coordination with the main refurbishment works. The full cycle suite was delivered and installed by our in-house team with minimal disruption to ongoing site activity.
