Scheme: 242 apartments & 146-room Hampton by Hilton, adjacent to Rochdale Riverside

As part of a wider £400 million regeneration initiative, the client aimed to promote eco-friendly commuting, upgrading on-site facilities to accommodate a growing cycling community while aligning with sustainability goals. We were appointed to design, manufacture, and install a pair of coordinated, timber-clad Amazon Eco structures: a high-capacity cycle enclosure and a matching bin store.

Project Overview

Two bespoke installations were delivered to provide secure, weather-resistant storage that encourages everyday cycling:

• Amazon Eco Cycle Enclosure — main bike facility
• Amazon Eco Bin Store — coordinated waste management unit

Amazon Eco Cycle Enclosure

• Hot-dipped galvanised frame to BS EN ISO 1461:2009 for long-term corrosion resistance.
• Fully clad in FSC-certified, clear-sealed softwood battens for a natural, sustainable finish.
• Strengthened sheet-metal roof with integrated guttering and downpipes.
• 60 Two-Tier Racks installed for high-density capacity and efficient circulation.
• Double swing gates enabling controlled access.
• Made in Britain and aligned with BREEAM objectives.

Amazon Eco Bin Store

• Constructed to the same durable specification for a cohesive visual language on site.
• FSC-certified timber cladding, swing gates, and strengthened sheet-metal roof with guttering.
• BREEAM-aligned and British-made.

Optional Upgrades & Enhancements

• Sedum green roof: full system for biodiversity and visual softening.
• Premium timber cladding: upgrade to hardwood (e.g., Sapele) for enhanced longevity and appearance.
• EasyGrip soft-touch handles on upper channels for improved ergonomics.
• Individual lower channels to delineate spaces and streamline use.
• Gatemaster Codelock for heavy-duty, keyless entry.
