Product Description
Vertical Cycle Hanger Shelter
Where space is at a premium, the Vertical Cycle Hanger Shelter offers an intelligent solution for secure cycle storage in commercial, residential, and public environments. Designed for sites with limited footprints, this shelter uses vertical storage racks to maximise capacity without compromising safety or convenience. It’s ideal for architects, specifiers, and facilities managers seeking a compact, durable bike shelter that aligns with modern sustainability and security requirements.
How It Works
Cyclists lift their bikes and hook the front wheel into the vertical rack. The rack is designed to secure the tyre rather than the rim, reducing strain and avoiding potential damage. Both the wheel and the frame can be secured with a suitable lock for maximum protection.
Please note that this shelter is not suitable for bikes with front-mounted mudguards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to common specification and installation questions regarding the Vertical Cycle Hanger Shelter.
What is a vertical cycle hanger system?
A vertical cycle hanger stores bicycles upright by supporting them from a wall-mounted mechanism, significantly reducing the floor area required per space. When combined with a shelter, it provides weather protection for high-density external storage.
Where is the Vertical Cycle Hanger Shelter typically specified?
It is commonly specified for residential developments, office schemes and urban sites where external space is limited but high cycle parking capacity is required.
Does the system require lifting?
Yes. Bicycles are lifted into an upright position for storage. Assisted or guided mechanisms may be specified to improve usability, depending on the selected configuration.
What level of weather protection does the shelter provide?
The integrated canopy protects bicycles from rain and UV exposure, helping to improve long-term durability and user experience in outdoor environments.
Does this support planning compliance?
Yes. By maximising cycle capacity within a constrained footprint, vertical hanger systems help developments meet required cycle parking numbers and support active travel strategies.
What preparation is required before installation?
Installation requires a structurally suitable wall substrate for the hanger system and a concrete base or slab for the shelter framework. Technical drawings and layout guidance are provided to support compliant installation.
